Writing books faster?

So my sim wants to be a writer but I feel like writing books takes soooooo long. I was curious if I up the skill faster thing in mccc will that help writing books be faster or does that just build the skill faster?

  • @wylmite1986 If you don't mind mods there's one by c821118 called "faster writing 1.90". I've used it & it works great; was just updated near end of aug. You can find it on Mod the Sims.
  • I also use a mod from MTS, but the one I use is Quickwrite by Mikya. It has three different speeds to choose from. As an added bonus each zip file also includes Quicksongs in the same chosen speed, in case you want that as well. I have the middle speed, supersim, and I love it. My author can knock a book out in no time. Which is perfect since not only does it take forever, but she has to work on the book start to finish in one go. If she stops before she finishes when I click resume writing she has to do the work all over again.

Awesome! I thought the bug/glitch had been fixed, because the first time my Sim was interrupted from writing a song, he was able to pick right up where he had left off. That was an anomaly, however. Now, I have to speed things up to >>> just to help him finish his work. Wasn't as big a deal when he was a Teen, but now he's married and it is unwise to speed things up like that, since on top speed it still takes Sim hours to finish. I'll shall jump over to MTS and grab the Quickwrite by Mikya. Way cool. Thanks!

ETA: Just popped over to check it out, was dismayed that the one I may need requires Vampires. :open_mouth: Oh, well, it also can mess with mods that use tuning. I may have a few of those …

The only file that needs Vampires is 'Mikya_quicksongs PipeOrgan', and you can just toss that one in the recycle bin since you don't have a pipe organ. I can't remember Erik using the DJ booth, so the only song file you should need is 'Mikya_quicksongs base'. If I'm wrong and he does use the DJ booth then you can add 'Mikya_quicksongs DJ' also. The mod might not play nice with Road To Fame but otherwise I would think you should be safe.
  • Awesome I’ll have to check it out!

  • I know we don't need to get too realistic, but let me tell you I'm writing a book in RL, and after 6 years I'm still not seeing the end of the job. And you want this to take - 2 hours? ;)
