Writing Songs. Am I doing it wrong? It seems to be taking forever.

I had a similar problem writing with the violin....every time I stopped it seemed as if the guage for writing the song reset

Eventually she grew up and moved out with her sister so I never solved the problem...but nor did I ever write even ONE song...I felt like it was a glitch gave up and moved on but I really am not sure
