Wrong On So Many Levels

Is it just me that thinks it is completely wrong , that your sims can get a phone call from someone random claiming to be rich and to go meet them , Then you can go to the new town and click on a hotel and supposedly try and go meet a wealthy weirdo .

I will say that I did not have TS4 normalizing 53x work on my 2024 bingo card. But, I guess it's easy enough to ignore.

  • I know this is a light-hearted, funny kind of game but, yeah, that's kind of creepy especially as this kind of thing happens in RL and often ends very badly in RL. Might want to rework this idea.

No, that doesn't bother me, because it's just a game and real life is much "weirder" than the Sims 4 portrays.

I've always felt that there aren't enough risks and consequences in the game as it is. There are always risks to decision-making in life, so I feel that it makes more sense in a life simulator to offer an unknown possibility with a variety of outcomes and allow the player to make the choice to take the risk or not. Players who like to play it safe and not take chances don't have to, but others like me, who want some risk and excitement, can take the gamble and see what happens.

Also, I've noticed that often we have features that people sometimes choose to see in the worst possible context, though the feature itself was intended in a different perspective. So just because something could be translated a certain way,  doesn't mean that it should. It's very important that choice exists in the game so that those who want a safe utopia can have it by choosing not to engage, but also that the risk option is preserved for those who want to take it and see what happens. I think that makes a lot of sense for The Sims in staying true to its roots as a cheeky simulator. šŸ™‚

  • I hear what you're saying. On the one side, it's a silly game, but since younger people do play it, just where does the line get drawn on what I would consider risky behavior?

I'm a grandmother. I already have a 12-year-old granddaughter who has made some pretty stupid choices in her young life. Taking a walk down to the grocery store in the dead of the night to get candy . . .In this day and age I shudder to think what could have happened, had a concerned neighbor not seen her and brought her home to her parents. :O

You are a Summer and should decorate accordingly.

  • It's making fun of twitter, I thought it was "No thanks, weirdo" was kinda harsh but realizing it I let it slide

You get this moodlet for saying no

  • I've had this twice so far, once from Nancy Landgraab (very in character, if I may say so) and once from one of my own played sims, who apparently had crossed a threshold to get recognized as "rich" by the game (he isn't rich, he just currently lives in a spa hotel). In both cases I couldn't see my sim agreeing, so I turned the caller down. I have other sims, who'd possibly found the offer worth considering, but they didn't get that call.

From the way the possible answers were formulated, it was very clear that turning this offer down was the correct choice and accepting might lead to at the very least awkwardness. That's why I don't have a problem with it.

My sim accepted the offer and got about a thousand simoleons worth of gems and metals. šŸ˜…

I think it's fine, the game so often seems designed not to offend anyone or take any risks so it's fun to see them make something like this.
