You Just Gotta Love the Sims!

I have a family with four children, so far. One is a teen, a boy, two more sons who are child sims and the youngest is a toddler girl. The third son is a genius, so I set him to experiment on the child's lab table. Toddler is in bed sleeping. Dad is in his bed asleep. Mom is talking with her eldest, the teen. I'm more interested in the laundry machines at this point. Like that little chime when the washer is done, by the way.

At any rate, I get a pop-up about a fire that has broken out on the lot. Guess Joey, Jr. has taken things a bit too far … I go up to the third floor of their mansion to see what's going on. Dad is doing the 'fire run'. I try to click on him to extinguish fire, apparently not available due to the fire. Face/palm. Mom is also freaking out. I click on Joey, Jr. still standing right at the burning lab table, to 'route to safety'. The toddler is standing by her bed in the next room. Mom can't take her to safety due to the fire. Face/palm. However, when I make her the active Sim, she is able to 'react'. While the lab table goes up in flames, their butler comes in.

So, who saved the day? The teenager, of course. Keeping a rather cool head, he uses the fire extinguisher every well-prepared, well-dressed teen keeps in his back pocket — can't be too safe these days. And voilà he tackles the fire. I have to say the pile of laundry, since the second son got out of his bed, and got dressed to flee the scene, leaving his jammies on the floor, look a tad scorched.

But, it's moments like this that makes me realize how we just gotta love the Sims!

Please share your moments that remind you why you love this franchise. :)

Now, aren't you ashamed of yourself? I mean, I stats-man like you. You should be looking for text only references. Tsk, tsk.

That image might be a pile of laundry to you but I thought it was a squashed bulldog that was wearing a costume. That's what's great about it - how one person sees something different to another person when playing the Sims.

    I see it!
