You prefer clean or polluted worlds?

I really want the world that I choose to be polluted and grim, and then other worlds in the same save to be clean - but I'm not sure if this will be possible. I've heard that you can toggle it on or off, but I'd really prefer it to be for each world to be able to play it how I want.
I love the idea of a polluted, scummy world where my sim is forced to live because she has no money,but can visit other worlds to see how lovely they are and want to live there instead. I dont like the idea of every place she visits to be polluted without a clean up operation... it seems a bit much! But definitely the world my sim lives in, I want to make as grimy and scummy as possible!!
