Me too, I'm going to see if this is a possibility. I think it would be great for collectors, especially after they get rich. It will let them house their entire collection in a professional, organized manner and help keep their household bills down by keeping the collection on a private lot, and also help with gameplay issues by having less objects to load into your sim's house.
I think having a building just for your collector sims would be perfect. I'm gonna test this out later tonight. I'll build a small building with shelves and see if I can put my items on the shelves in live mode and see if they stay there over time. I hope other sims don't just take things from community lots. I WISH we could own multiple lots again, both community and residential. I'd LOVE to control 2 households at once.
