Your go to way to earn money?

Painting, writing books, going to all the neighborhoods and collecting/harvesting everything and trying to get promotions as fast as possible. If you have teens I also give them part time jobs. And something I’ve never actually done but thought about when I was desperate for simoleons and didn’t want to cheat is moving in townie friends which gives your household and extra 20k if they don’t live with anybody else. Then moving them out again. I never did it cuz it felt too much like cheating.

-political career + ask for large bribe
-marriage + murder
-submit "best seller" books to literary digest
-painting yard sale, mark up prices as high as possible
-busking with violin (just because i like listening to the violin music in-game)
-starting a huge garden

it's insanely cheaty but selling vampire cures on a sales table at 300% markup is what I do when I just want money fast

Painting is easy money especially with the reward trait forget what’s it called but it allows a sim to make more masterpieces. Political career isn’t so easy because the sim has to agree with your sim ideals and if friendship isn’t high enough it’ll backfire

get friendly with a goth or a landgraab or a villareal (or all three :naughty: ) ask them to move in, take their whole family, sell their house and stuff in the process. and then lock them all in the basement or feed them to a cowplant or whatever you please.

If you have JA, you earn a lot of money going there and collecting treasures. I made over 30k my last trip there. (2-days)

I have JA so I take my Sim to the jungle once a week, collect the treasures and sell them at the flea market with a 300% mark up. My heir's teenager manned the table and completed the money aspiration in one afternoon.

Oh and every now and then pets will poop gold. Worth around 6000 simoleons. Always very excited when that happens around the same time bills come rolling in. I always keep the poop safe in their inventory until needed.

Okay, it's not QUITE as much as some of these seem to be, and it's super time consuming, but you can make a lot of consistent money with a high quality garden. Try to get everything to "perfect." It takes a while but I think it's worth it, especially for a legacy. If you buy the "free services" perk you can even have a gardener come tend your garden which lessens the workload for your Sims. But if you've got teens, I'd just make them take care of the garden :D

Do you have to feed the pets anything special to get the golden poo?

I don't know actually. They just sometimes do it. :D they'll poop out sort of golden-looking poo and that turns into gold instead of a trash plant. So mostly I just have to keep my sims from cleaning it but I'm not sure yet why they do it xD
