I'm enjoying the pack, and I'll probably use it in my legacy save when I'm done playing with my RoM save. My only complaint is that kids and toddlers weren't included. It's taking me forever to get my kid aged up because I've got three people in the household, and I usually play with no more than two. (Easier to micromanage them.)
The only bug I've noticed is that 'clean up books' no longer works at all, but that's a general game bug that probably came in the patch. (Maybe they tried to fix the problem with Sims sitting down at tables instead of putting books away?) Anyway, you can still get them to clean up the books by clicking on the books they throw on the ground. It's moderately less annoying than having them sit at tables, which took extra time, at least. And they will clean up books autonomously - after searching for magic tomes, my Sims clean up the books left all over the magic HQ.
It's fairly typical that the loudest people are ones who aren't happy with the pack, including many who moan about 'all the bugs' but haven't even bought it. There's a large echo chamber, lately.
The thing about your statement "including many who moan about 'all the bugs' but haven't even bought it." is spectulation as you do not know if they brought it and you are trying to make it fact. Just because you experienced one bug and that may be true you had experienced one bug but you cannot speak for those that have experienced many more bugs than you experienced and remember some bugs are activated by an certain routine and is considered one if it can be duplicated by such routines. How can one be happy with an product that you can't enjoy if yuou are experiencing bugs. People have different levels of how much they can take before saying something.
No, I'm basing it on the fact that these people have said they haven't bought RoM, or that they don't play the game at all. Personally, I do play the game and have the pack, and while I've run into (or avoided) a few bugs, it simply isn't 'bug-riddled'. I can understand that one specific bug might be a pack-killer for some players. If you had your heart set on retailing potions, the pack isn't worth buying until that's fixed. But that's exactly why I don't put a lot weight behind the 'all the bugs' crowd. It's much more helpful to have input from fellow players about the bugs they've experienced; that can help someone to decide whether the bugs will affect their game play.
I honestly don't have that many bugs in my game, and none of those that I've seen have a major effect on my game play. I've had some big ones in the past, but they've been fixed because they were game-killlers.
