1. More emotions and personalities, combining different personalities should give us rewards as well, like giving us sims who are better at doing different things together or are better at building skills like charisma.
2. Larger goals with bigger rewards that gives us reasons to play with multiple households. Like being able to build a band, or start an organization, or organize a large event which could give you big rewards.
3. Expensive and nice things to spend money on, like cars, boats, helicopters. And reasons to use them like added bonuses, new skills and unlock more ways to make money and complete goals.
