"YouTuber" career

So I had my two roommates in the acting career but had one quit because it was just too much having two active sims doing that. So I had one quit to become a "YouTuber" using the video production table. Well...he's not making a ton of money off the royalties. Granted, I just started having him do it but I was wondering if a sim can build a career on the video production table alone?

My sim earns about 5k a day just in royalties, so she actually earns more from making videos than she does from being a level 10 actress.

This is a flaw within the game for sure.

I doubt it my sim was making 2,000 in royalties off her videos. Plus I think it can replace a job in the game because you can make money.

This may be a stupid guestion but I was wonder can teens be "Simtubers" as well?

Yes. I've got a teen doing just that, and she's already making some royalties off her first two videos.
So can children my sims kids already have a fan base and are making money off their videos to. :joy:

  • 1. Make a lot of videos... seriously, dedicated a sim day to nonstop video making (don't worry about quality)
    2. Improve the multimedia production skill
    3. Edit the vids and add transitions (Be careful, sometimes this doesn't always work in your favor
    4. Enjoy the money

    Basically... consistency is key.
  • I hope I'm not too late to the party here. I had Marcus Flex be a YouTuber and he was making anywhere from $3k to $5k daily off royalties. Here's some of the things you can do to make a living off this career:

  • Make videos at least five times a week. I don't think the length of them really matters from what I saw in my test game. I prefer using the drone so you don't spend so much time in front of the table recording videos. Recording a video once a day is perfect. You can have the drone record you while singing at Orchid A Go Go, while working out at the gym, or even record a date. I basically had Marcus recording as if he were doing his own reality TV show with new episodes 5x per week.
  • Study trends before you make a video. This can sometimes help you make the right video that will get a lot of views once you edit and upload it.
  • Edit your videos. As you gain skill in Media Production, the finished product will be Good or Great versus Fair or Poor and that will make a difference in royalties. Once you gain more skill, you can add transitions or effects which give you a chance to make the video better quality. Once in awhile, it can make it worse so you've been warned.
  • Get out of your comfort zone. I once had Marcus do a video on makeup tips. He ended up earning an award for it.
  • It helps to promote old videos, hype the next one, and answer comments. You'll get the option on the table. All of these things are helpful, but I think you can only do one of them once a day.
  • Last, have fun while doing it. Don't do the same thing over and over or else it can get boring quick.

That will make great storys for sure! A teen from a poor family gets a job, saves money and buys a Simtube table and starts making big money
  • Totally, I must be getting almost 10.000 every day from royalties now. Also if you have the first video production perk from the fame perks you'll get a boost.
