A question about the existence of builder mods

I would love to be able to create curved walls vaulted ceilings (this differs from Cathedral Ceilings. Cathedral Ceilings always follow the pitch of the roof while vaulted ceiling though has that similar shape does not follow the pitch of the roof), and sunken rooms (this is different than me creating a basement and removing the floor in different areas but split level rooms.

Curved Walls

Sunken Rooms

I use T.O.O.L Mod for a lot of things but it does have its limitations.

I wonder if there is a mod out there that will allow us to build split level, vaulted ceilings and curved walls or am I going to have to wait for Paralives to come out and build how I want to build in Paralives.

If there are mods for this please share. I don't mind supporting another modder on Patreon. If I could I would support them all. I really do love T.O.O.L. Mod but I can't curve a wall, create a split level with a sunken living room or dining room, or vaulted ceilings with it but I can do everything else and I am fine with the limitations because it allows those of us in the building community to make some amazing builds and I'm good but not as great as some builders out there.

  • @TyrAVB Thank you very much the advice is appreciated

I think the other option would be similar to a Bezier Curve in which there would by anchor points showing on the wall for us a click on and push out or pull in.

  • @szanne7777 thanks for the information. I'm going to slowly add back in CC and mods once I'm happy with the test game I'm doing.
  • I can think of two possible solutions to curved walls within existing game limitations and frankly I am puzzled why nobody did them so far. One is to turn fences into fake walls. Game allows fences to curve on round patios, and we already have for long now mod that places tall, wall high glass fences that look like glass walls and when placed on rounded patio they are round. To have fake round walls one would only need to make similar fence like those thin glass ones, but thicker and not transparent. Yes, wall sticking objects would not stick to them as to real walls and it would be not possible to paint them with wall textures, but 10 or 20 color swatches would cover a lot of needs considering such round walls would be most often used in modern building, therefor probably be used as white or gray walls anyway. If you would need windows or doors there, you would simply need to incorporate 1 or 2 segments long straight wall within your curved walls design.

Second is simple curved walls as simple stand alone objects. It would probably be a collection of few types, quarter-circle 1, 2 or 3 segments size, S curved in same sizes etc. Same as fake fence solution, they would need some swatches and probably, if would be eager enough, versions for mid and tall rooms and also variants with some standard size openings for some windows and doors to be placed with move cheat that all use anyway.

Those both solutions would be far from perfect but they would still be something that people can work with, and considering how people are creative in using what they have to create something different, I am sure people would use them very creatively and achieve stunning results.
  • @drakharis You might find these deco round walls by Maho Creations useful:

First post, top of this page. The simfileshare link is working. They come in all three wall heights and a variety of colors.
