Anyone else?

I’m having an issue with my game (I play on my Mac book) where every time I have my sim can anything from apples to tomatoes it freezes my whole game. I can’t click on anything I can’t move my sims nothing! The only way to stop it is to force quit my game and just never do it again! Anyone else having this issue? If so is there a fix? Is it a mod? Pls help me!
