Anyone Have This Mod?

I want to install a mod so I'm looking for feedback.

https://modthesims.info/d/659091/empty-worlds-with-custom-names.html

Has anyone installed this and had any issues? Also, does it just add the extra worlds to the game, or does it wipe out everything from the current worlds?

I'm also open to suggestions of the same type of mod from other creators.

PS. SRSLY's website s down for maintenance, so that's a no-go.

  • This is not actually a mod as such.

It is a game save with all worlds bulldozed and world names changed.

It is used to start totally new games so you can build a new game to your own liking.

This takes time and patience to do, as there is absolutely nothing in that new game, no builds of any kind and only one sim Not in world so the game will actually save.

As for similar things, you could start a fresh or new game the EA way then bulldoze every lot and delete every household except for a single sim. Bingo, your very own "custom" world to build and save.

Again, this will take time and patience.

Hope this clears your confusion and helps

  • Actually, what I want is a mod or whatever that let's me add blank worlds to my currently occupied worlds. If that makes sense?

An extra world with empty lots so I can place my gazillion downloaded lots.

  • OK, there is a mod called Copy World, or it could be world copy.

Anyway that mod does as it says, it will copy any world you may have loaded in game, you can then rename that world using the rename world command in the mod, then you can bulldoze and build or load lots to your hearts content.

I have used this mod for a long time, be aware it can make your game double in size fast, and, add the lag that way too.

Yes! That's what I'm looking for!

Now on to my next question.

When reading up about bugs and various game issues, I see a lot of times it's recommended to remove/uninstall mods.

This obviously means that I will lose that world and all the Sims and lots within it, so when reintroducing the mod do I then get my game back as it was or would I have to start over again, cos I have a super specific gameplay method and that would just bum me out.

Its not a mod, its actually a saved game where all the worlds were emptied. You download the file and put it in your saves folder. When you load your game then that save will be with your other saves to select and play.

Removing mods is not the drama it sounds. just add an A to the end of the folder name, then make a new mods folder. After all is sorted and no more errors appear, reverse the folder names again, the empty mods folder becomes modsz and the modsa gets that A dropped.

As to losing the world, that won't happen with game updates. You do however lose any mods or CC that might be in all the worlds temporarily. To avoid this I also use several similarly named save folders. I do the same when "plundering" the gallery, using customised mods, saves and tray folders, all completely empty so I get no dramas when using the gallery or when updating the game. Which, I only do After all the foolishness is over with.

I also never actually play the game online and never let it auto update, change those settings in the EA App when you go online before starting the game.

I hope this is clear enough to help you along to a smoother experience with this sometimes crusty game and its updates.
