black screen, sims cursor

sameee, need help, i dont wanna lose my mods and cc :((

I am having the same error, where it only load without my mods.

OMG I FIXED IT. get the better exceptions mod (https://www.curseforge.com/sims4/mods/better-exceptions) and when you open your game and it’s stuck on the black screen, the better exceptions mod will pop up and run a test on what’s causing your screen to go black. 

delete or update said mods it’s telling you and it’ll go back to normal (the mods are usually irrelevant)

Hi! I had this problem too and I figured out it was one of thepancake mods, I took out the remove sims from conversation mod and the newest update of the color slider mod, I’m guessing it was the remove from conversation one since that one hasn’t been updated since July, that got it to go past the black screen with cursor. Hope this is able to help you guys and good luck! 

This worked for me too! Thanks so much, you saved me a lot of tears- for me it was TMEX- All Scenarios causing the error, which was weird because yesterday it worked absolutely fine.
