There have been recent MCCC updates. Make sure you're on the current one. I can report that I've had no cooking/eating problems with it: https://www.patreon.com/posts/mc-command-3-9-5-15313487
For most people, though, the cause of food-related problems is CC, especially CC sofas and counters. Much of this can now be fixed in Sims 4 Studio.
