Build mode selection disappears

Question

I am unsure what is happening.I'm having an issue with my game where I can only place one item from the catalog. Whenever I try to select another item, my previous selection disappears, and I am unable to place anything else. I've tried various solutions, such as removing custom content and script mods and even playing on a fresh copy of the game, but nothing seems to work. As someone who primarily uses the game for building, this issue is making it difficult to play. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this problem?

Try the following

Close the game
Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to&nbsp;Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry
Start a new save game
Check if you still have the error
Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

@lollypopyou8511  Awesome! I'd suggest moving your save files back into the new Saves folder and testing just to be sure. After that, you can gradually add mods back in and test after additions, but check for updates as you do, especially for any mods that affect the UI.
