The only solution I have had so far is they will sleep on the first floor, not the 2nd floor. No commands when I tell him to sleep will even queue up if the bed is upstairs.
@tdnpo134 Just to be sure, if you use mods, please test without. (Also, there could be new causes since the OP posted! There have been many patches since then, and many more broken/updated mods, among other things.)
