Cannot visit apartment

For several years now, the Sim wants to visit an apartment (doesn't matter which world), but there is no door, just a lighted blank area. I had one success where I controlled an NPC who invited my Sim to her apartment. Try to visit another apartment? No way.

To rule out mod-related causes, please do a "vanilla" test: Drag the Mods folder to the desktop and rename it, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving. This will let you know if a mod or CC item is your cause. If it is, see Mod & CC Issues: START HERE
