Can't get sims to sleep in bed

Hi there,

I experiencing an issue in game where I can't get my sims to sleep in the bed that's in a house that I downloaded from the in game gallery and placed on an empty lot using the build mode. The house I downloaded had a bed in one room where there were nightstands right next to the bed on both sides of the bed which I initially though may have been the reason why the sims would continually refuse to sleep on the bed. I can only get them to nap on the couch. I tried to get them to sleep in another double bed in the other bedroom where the nightstands were not located immediately next to the bed and they would still refuse to sleep in the bed. What's causing this and what can I do to fix this?

@CanadianGamer52 Solved and house fixed, you can use it easily. See the pictures, all you need to do is move that one wall I marked in the pictures out one square. The stairs were blocked, not the beds. As you can see my sim happily sleeps in either bed. Moving the wall does send the black bed, patio table and 2 chairs to family inventory, but that's easy to put back in place.

I'm glad that works for you. It is a nice house, just needed a slight adjustment is all. Still odd, normally you can place walls at the end of stair like that but, I think because it's actually the wall of a half gabled roof, the game didn't like it so close to the stairs.

It is a nice house for sure and it's slightly surprising that the person who designed the house overlooked that minor flaw that prevented the Sims from reaching the 2nd floor of the house. I didn't even notice that too until you placed it in your game to test it out and discovered the minor design flaw.

  • Found a way to create the problem and to solve it as well.

Problem, I have 4 sims, 3 double beds.

after making them wohoo, i send them to their "correct" bed (they did not used the assigned one for some reason and was empty).

After that the sim on that bed was unable to use that one or the one being really used.

So that is the bug. (slecting sleep in other bed while the first is being used, then the first gets compromized)

Solution, go to "construction mode" move the bed to inventory. (my both sims that where in other bed wake up as if their bed where removed)

Place the same bed in the same spot again, go back to normal mode.

    All worked as it should.

Must admit this bug is really simple to create. specially when the sims do not use their asignated positions. (also speaking of that some sims should be able to have more than one assigned one)
