Try the following
- Close the game
- Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
- Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry
- Start a new save game
- Check if you still have the error
- Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.
Hi! I have the same issue and same error. It worked the way you explained but I have mods and CC's and I would like to keep them. What do I do now? I just move my mods files? Thanks!

Hi @ve1twnloxf3s . You'll need to confirm that it's a mod or CC causing your problem first. Exit Sims 4 then drag your Mods folder to your desktop. Then delete the file called localthumbcache from Document > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. If you think you might accidentally forget to exit without saving after testing, copy your Saves folder to your desktop too, to back it up.
Now open Sims 4 and see if you still have the problem. If you don't, you can start the process of figuring out what from your Mods folder was causing it. There is no chance it's all of your mods/CC causing it, and some of what's not working now probably has an updated version available.
