cant open britechester

when i try to open britechester all that shows up is a white screen. i can open it just fine with no mods installed so it has to be a mod issue, but i have no mods relating to university so i dont know what could be causing it. i believe it started happening after that update that broke every mod ever. i have so much cc and mods that it would probably take several hours to figure out which is causing it, so i was wondering if anyone else had this happen and/or knows what it is.

  • @cabbage78 It could be one of many, many mods, unfortunately. Besides which, 1.105 broke so many mods that you really should update them anyway.

    Try this workflow:

    1. Drag Mods to the desktop, delete localthumbcache, and start the game to create a new Mods folder. Copy your Saves folder to your desktop as a backup.
    2. Use the lists in Broken/Updated Mods to delete anything that's outright broken from your old mods folder
    3. Get fresh copies of things like XML Injector and ModGuard. You'll find a list of what the current versions are and where they are in Broken/Updated Mods .
    4. Use Broken/Updated Mods to find updated mods. Delete the old version from your old mods folder and install the new version in the new one. You can copy over .cfg files, though. Check for new installation instructions - lots are updated recently.
    5. Now start the game to make sure it's working. Test in a new save and your previous one.
    6. Next you can start testing batches of other mods. If you need to remove any during testing, delete localthumbcache.

@xzarahussainx Please try this folder refresh:

    1. Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
    2. Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options. Start with New to test if your issue recurs.

      If that works:
    3. Exit and copy files out of your old Saves folder into the new Saves folder. Important: Don't just copy the old folder! You want to use the newly created folders.
    4. Launch Sims 4 and use Load to select an older save to test.

      If that works:
    5. Copy your old Tray files (this is your Library), Screenshots and Videos files.
    6. To test mods, copy the files into the new folder *in batches* with any mods they depend on (injectors and core mods, for example). Don't copy your old resource.cfg file. If you delete any mods from the new folder, delete localthumbcache. Check the instructions on 50-50 testing here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mods-CC-Issues/INFO-How-to-Use-Mods-and-CC/m-p/13439356#FiftyFifty

I see you've been referred to a bug report for Residential Rental-related lot corruption.
