Can't Resolve Sewage Leak Event with Water Shut-Off N.A.P. Active

This is a weirdly niche situation, but as the title mentions, a sewage leak happened in my sims' rental, but right as the landlord showed up and the event started, water shut-off day started and of course, the toilet shut off. This of course meant that my sim and the landlord sim couldn't complete either of the tasks associated with the event, and its not possible to enter build/buy when the event is active. So I'm basically locked out of buy mode until the event wears off or water shut-off day stops. It appears I can still leave the lot which is good (I was able to enter map mode at least). I have all expansions, all game packs except for My Wedding Stories and Batuu, all the stuff packs, and a few of the kits. I don't have any mods or CC enabled currently.
