What caches did you clear? Clearing Origin cache is a waste of time on a Mac https://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin-Mac-Client-Technical/Clearing-Origin-cache-on-Mac-the-correct-way/m-p/12352783#M137370
Follow these steps to launch a new clean game and see if that helps - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M163

I cleared the localthumbcache.package, cache, avatarcache.package, cachestr, onlinethumbnailcache by manually deleting them, didn't realize it didn't do anything for Mac users. I just realized I needed to update a mod that I was using and also used the Reset Origin Tool to see if that helps. I'll launch a new clean game and report later to see if anything was fixed, fingers crossed!
Thank you.

Ah, you cleared the game cache, thanks for clarifying. Yeah, that works on Mac although the easiest thing is to just rename or move the Sims 4 folder so a brand new, clean one is created in it's place 🙂- ximenarifai3 years agoSeasoned Traveler
Took a couple of days but had time to check on my game yesterday (after another update) and sad to report CAS is still acting up. I was able to access my library on the Gallery and download a sim from it but after clicking on the check mark to go back to live mode and play, I had to force quit the game because it was taking way too long (I'm talking over 1 hr) to load back into my game. So I'm at a loss and desperate to find something that will help me fix this issue.
