Children get taken away for no reason

Hello, I hope somebody can help me. My Sim‘s children keep getting taken away and I can‘t figure out why (I fear it‘s a bug). They are good in school, have great relationships with their parents and their needs are always green. I do play with Mods and maybe there is a problem, but I don‘t know which one would cause this to happen. What should I do know?
