I think Khaleesi's question was more about whether or not the custom content shown on Sims in the gallery transfers over when you download it. The answer is no. This is not possible because all cc in the sims 4 is in package format, unlike the sims 3 which had package and sims3pack. You have to have the packages installed in your mod folder for them to show up on a downloaded Sim. People will probably figure out how to transfer cc with created sims but for right now it has not yet been discovered.

I've never been one of the people that knew how to mess with mods and folders and such so I'll just be waiting until someone figures out how to transfer cc with created sims. Thanks so much!

You have to track down the original website that the CC is from. Most creators on the gallery do not share that information in their descriptions so you can try asking nicely.

@PeachyAtheist I was wondering if maybe you meant to ask where to find CC in general (not specific to items you see in the gallery) there are several places you can go:
