Ask the author if there is an update available.
- @jpkarlsen They have worked for all my time playing the sims but all of the sudden when I added them back after an update they stop working.

@zdawg54321 Unfortunately, many CC hairstyles, skin replacements/overlays, and custom slider mods were affected by changes to the game code in the last game patch. EA allows for mods to be used in Sims 4, but they don't provide support for them. That is up to the mod creators and the players that choose to use them. Many CC creators are working to update their CC files to make them compatible with the current game version. Check back on whatever site you used to download your CC hairstyle to see if a new + compatible version is available. Follow whatever installation instructions they give. Once an updated version is available, you'll have to delete the old file from your mods folder, and insert the new file. Then the hairstyle should work again in your game.
I'm just a regular Sims player, I do not work for EA.
My Custom Content like hairs, skin etc have become grainy. Just seeing like all these little holes really makes me uncomftable/anxious/scared (Trypophobia). I know the new update did something with the graphic settings, and that might have been what messed up all the CC since they worked perfectly fine before. I know its not my mods since I've done the 50/50 method multiple times since this update.
Since this update is new I doubt that the creators will go back and fix all their previous content. I don't know if I can change my graphic settings or if Sims 4 Studio could be of help here, but i don't know how. If anyone has figured this out with some sort of Setting or via S4S. Please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken. - RandomBuzziness4 years agoSeasoned Ace
@Elltia_T Many CC skins and alpha hairstyles were broken by the werewolves patch, so it's not just you or your computer/graphics settings. I don't think changing your graphics settings will help at all. As far as I know, Sims 4 Studio does not currently have a batch fix to repair the broken files, but maybe that is something they'll add in the future.
CmarNYC is working on a utility mod called TS4AlphaConverter to repair broken alpha hairstyles and skins. I don't think I can post a link here, but you can find it on Mod the Sims. It's very new but it might be worth keeping an eye on to see if it's something you'd be willing to try after it's been tested more thoroughly.
Otherwise, keep checking back to whatever site you used to download your CC hairstyles and skins to see if they have updated versions, or if there is a new release of S4S that includes a batch fix.
I tried the Alpha converter on all my files and it worked. Only 7 S-club hairs didn't manage, but all my other hair, skins etc got fixed. I'm so greatful, thank you sm! I will say this, it took 36 hours straight for to convert all my files (30 000). But I can say that it was worth it.
I will keep checking S4S and updates by the CC creators
I have noticed tho that the S-Club black hair color has survived so if you want to use that until the mods are updated you could

The latest version of Sims 4 Studio, 3.1.5.9, has batch fixes for CC hairstyles and slider mods that were affected by the Werewolves patch. The new version has:
1. a batch fix that will repair these packages so the hair will look right and still be compatible with the color sliders.
2. a batch fix that will change hairs that aren’t compatible with the color sliders so they are.
3. a batch fix that will fix face and body slider mods so they work in patched games. If anyone is still having problems with CC alpha hairstyle or slider mods, this is another option for your consideration.
Okay hi so I noticed no one here is really being helpful nd i was having the same problem so i dug a little deeper for a solution. what you want to do is download a texture converter, the one im using is by CmarNYC. To use the CMAR slider converter, you will need to create a "before" and "after" folder. When you download .package files put them into the "before" folder. Next open the CMAR application and select your "before" folder as your input folder. Then, select your "after" folder (which should be empty) as the "output" folder. Then, run the application. It usually takes a couple minutes depending on the size of your folder which you are converting. After they are converted into the "after" folder, simply place them in your mods folder like all other package files. (You can delete the original package files aka the "before" folder after they are done converting) Hope this helps! 🙂 Its a bit of a process but totally worth it!
