Custom traits - Importing images as icons and file format/size

Hello again :)

I'm currently working on a set of new traits for my game. But there is an issue I'm trying to figure out. I wanted to change the icons of my traits, so I looked in the xlm/simdata files for other icons. I managed to put those other icons for my trait, but the problem is, in some part of the UI, those icons scaled down look pixelated and not as neat as the game traits icons.

So I was wondering, what is the format (PNG, DDS ?) and the size (128x128 ?) of the icons for the traits included in game ? And is there a way to import custom files into my .package and link it to my trait ?

Thanks in advance !
Have a nice day.
  • Hey @Tiro22222 ,

There are a couple of sizes and in DDS format. Here are all the icons used for the Geek trait which illustrate how you should author your icons:

    00b2d882:00000000:cbbc4fd78a5f1f44 trait_Geek_cas Fullbuild6 40x40
    00b2d882:00000000:a41937f790127d98 Buffs_Geek Fullbuild6 40x40
    00b2d882:00000000:8c5a13ca4fec2e8b Buffs_Geek_neg Fullbuild6 40x40
    00b2d882:00000000:a5fe1ed8bd1ea27c headline_Geek Fullbuild6 128x128 (not all traits have this)
    00b2d882:00000000:226bd3af8d1955a5 whim_Geek Fullbuild7 40x40 (not all traits have this)

You can add your own icons in a .package file and point your new trait's tuning to those.

    Hope that helps.

  • Thanks a lot, that's perfect. I've been able to import my custom icon in game and it looks good !
