Hi guys,I have a massive problem and I don't know what to do anymore.I use quite a lot of CC in my game but time after time I go on a little purge where I delete CC that I don't use anymore, mainly CAS items. I use the TSR CC Manager but I also have separate CC in my mods folder. Some of them just don't seem to disappear from the game. I've literally tried everything, I've read every possible solution and tried it as well:I tried to repair the game, delete the localthumbcache file, I've uninstalled my game and re-dowloaded it, I've removed the mods folder, ran the game, they won't show and then when I put in my mods folder it's there again.Today I literally made a copy of my mods folder to my desktop, deleted the whole Sims 4 folder and ran the game to generate a new sims 4 folder. I downloaded all my TSR CC and put it together with my normal CC in the mods folder while deleting it from the TSR CC Manager.I went trough every single map, every single file in my mods folder using Sims4Studio and 1 by 1 placed them back in the Sims 4 mods folder. I didn't find the files anywhere in my folders yet they are still in my game ☹️I don't know what to do anymore, I've literally tried everything, and I mean everything but they are still there.Please, is there someone who can help?

Hey,I've now of course found the solution and hope this can help you too!If you use TSR CC Manager that's the problem. Since this has happened I don't use it anymore and download straight to mods folder and I haven't had the issue since.Essentially if you've had mods in the TSR CC Manager for a while, the become archived and what it does is it changes the file name to archive473459743 just a random name and that's why you can't find it anymore. I had to go through my whole mods folder to find them and delete them, so. if you are using the CC Manager fro TSR, I suggest you don't anymore and just add the CC you want to the basket and download as a batch zip file going straight to your mods!Saves the headache of finding the files after!Hope this helps!

@slypydog Try creating a(nother) clean Sims 4 folder, then add a little bit of custom content at a time, and keep testing. When the cc you don't want shows up, you'll know the issue is one of the files or folders you just added, and you can go from there.

I’ve tried that. I didn’t even check batches, I checked every single file. 1 by 1. I don’t have any CC located outside my mods folder. I saved a copy to my desktop and deleted the one in documents and then ran to the game to generate a clean sims 4 folder. then I checked all the files 1 by 1. and it’s not there, I don’t have a physical file anywhere, yet it’s still in the game. 😩

@slypydog Just checking, but you're sure the items you want to get rid of are in fact custom content? If so, please look for a second Sims 4 user folder: if the game is reading that folder instead of the one you're working with, and that folder has the cc in it, that would explain the issue. A common place for a second folder to land is in OneDrive; if you're already looking in OneDrive, try the version of Documents stored on your hard drive. Either way, you can see the location of the folder in the address bar, so you'll know which one you're looking at.

@slypydog Try creating a(nother) clean Sims 4 folder, then add a little bit of custom content at a time, and keep testing. When the cc you don't want shows up, you'll know the issue is one of the files or folders you just added, and you can go from there.

Obviously.
You remove the mods folder, they don't show. You put it back. They show. CC is in the mods folder. That's the way it works.

The problem is, there isn’t a physical CC file for one of the CAS items ANYWHERE in the Mods folder, I’ve checked 1 by 1 and it’s still in the game, without having the file anywhere in my mods folder or any other folder for the matter of fact.

@slypydogWell, it's rather simple.

If you remove the mods folder and it disappears. If you put the mods folder back in and its there... there's no other option. The CC is in the mods folder somewhere.

You must have missed it. Maybe it's in a folder you missed? Maybe the file was renamed? I don't know. But it IS in there. Somewhere. You've already proven that yourself.

@slypydog I feel like you had the solution though. When you removed the mod folder, the CC was gone from the game and only appeared once you put the folder back. It is possible that the mod folder is bugged and deleting the folder entirely is the solution. The game will generate a new folder when you launch it so you don't have to worry about it having an impact on the game.

@slypydog I realize this is an old post but I came across it while looking into a similar issue. I found that TSR CC Manager hasn't been updating it's own library folder after I delete things. I did a massive purge but the library folder in my mods folder is still the same size as it was before the purge, even after restarting all the things. Could be your issue too?? I hope that you where able to figure something out without having to delete everything and redownload it.

I have the same problem. I deleated some cc long time ago, but they still show up in the game. For me, the files don't even exist on the computer, or I just can't find them

@1PILK Please move the entire Mods folder to the desktop and delete localthumbcache.package, then see whether the custom content still shows up. If it doesn't, great, add the files you want to keep to the new Mods folder the game will have created.

If the cc is still present, you're likely looking at the wrong Sims 4 folder, as in, not the one the game is reading. Please use this guide to find the correct folder:
