@bohemianangel Sorry, I'd only read the original post, which I just realized was from last year. Yeah, I forgot that the new patch no longer requires you to check that box each time. If your game is fully patched, you no longer have to check the box repeatedly.
One thing I did notice in the OP, was that he mentioned that they were package files. I don't know if this pertains to you also, but they could have accidentally downloaded a Sims 3 house because Sims 4 houses should not be in package format. The files should be .blueprint, .trayitem and .bpi" files. If there are any .package files included, they are usually custom content included with the house and should go into the "Mods" folder.
