Embarrassed when not in the same room?

Forgive me if this is similar to another issue. I tried googling but nothing seemed to quite fit.

My Sim’s daughter recently got the embarrassed moodlet associated with going into the bathroom when someone is in there. Thing is, she wasn’t in the same room as her mother (who was showering) at the time. It’s also happened occasionally to other Sims in other save games. 
To clarify, my Sim was in the shower on the ground floor, and her daughter was in her bedroom upstairs, and still did the “gasp” animation and got the embarrassed moodlet like she’d walked in on her mother.

It’s a somewhat minor bug overall, but still weird.
