Home menu button glitch

This is my first post here because i couldn't find anyone else with this issue. The buttons in the home menu are squished together and only the resume game buttons works. I linked an image to show what it looks like.

I have mods and CC installed don't know if any of those might be causing it. And i haven't tried pressing resume game because i am afraid i'tll break my saves or mods.

  • i'm very new to the sims and don't really know how to help myself with this. i tried looking at the lists but that didn't really help. I am now disabling mods to try and find wich one is causing my problem.

  • Hey! Is your game updated? Are you keeping up with your mod creators for which mods are down? There are quite a few mods that are still down and being worked on/updated to be playable again. Scarlets Realm updates daily on mods and crashes. WW and MCCC i believe have updates. Lumpinou (Mood pack, RPO, etc) recommended deleting all mods and reinstalling the ones you know for sure are updated per the creators to avoid crashes and breaking saves.

    Hi

With the mods you have - check whether they have been updated via whichever websites you got them from.  Then create a temporary mod folder elsewhere and then move your mods to it.  Then move your mods over in small groups - to the original mod folder.  (If some mods work together or are linked together  - move them together).   Then load the game.  If it loads and works - then the  mods in that group are ok.  So then come out of the game and move more mods over to the original folder and load the game again.  Keep going until the game fails - keeping note of the last group of mods you moved over.  The fail will be caused by a mod in the last group you moved over.  So then come out of the game.  And - in the last group of mods - move them over one by one - loading the game each time.  Then you will find out which mod - is causing the fail.  It is beyond time consuming - but, eventually you will find out which mod is causing this error.

I hope this helps.   Good luck fellow simmer.

Apologies - you had already directed her to the lists.  She then said she was new and she had looked at the lists and they didn't help.  So I was trying to help her - like other users helped me.  Especially when you are new to the forums and - it is not the most user friendly place for beginners.  You can feel lost on here sometimes.  But, I hear you.

Thanks for the responses everyone! I figured out wich mod was causing my problem and disabled it, my game now works normally again. I'm having some issues with some hair cc being removed from my sims even though its still installed. It's fixable by going back into create a sim and reselecting it. Not a big issue but though I should mention it.

Sel_913 That just means you saved when the CC wasn't being seen by the game (either you had the option disabled or you had moved the folder out/renamed it). It's why we say to exit without saving when testing mods/CC.
