@allbutfaithful Please try this:
- Move/rename the Mods folder so the game creates a new one
- Delete localthumbcache - do this every time you change the content of the Mods folder or move/rename it
- Start the game
- Start a NEW save
Let me know if that works
I followed the tutorial link in your last message, and I was able to start a new save. The tutorial said to try adding things back in, so I added my saves back to the game and only added mc command center, UI extensions, and Andrew pose player. I got the error message again. I took out all my mods and tried to go into a save again and I’m still getting the error message.
Repairs aren’t working either. This patch definitely broke my game.
@andbrillant Okay, since you had career mods, try adding those back (unless they were freelance careers).
Also, what's not loading: the save or your household?
I mostly had freelance careers and removed those. I’ve tried adding the custom rabbit hole careers back and that didn’t help. I can get into the save if I click load game instead of resume. It’s when I try to go into a household. I get a loading screen for a few minutes only to be taken back to the world select screen, which I never went to begin with and get the error code.
@andbrillant Okay, since for sure you had one cause of this - freelance careers (I just tested one to see the results after the injector updates) - let's see if we can do more to get your saves working again.
Try this sequence to clear out even more possible remaining issues:
- Remove/rename the Sims 4 user folder so the game creates a new one: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/resetting-the-game-to-factory-settings-without-reinstalling/
- Run a Game Repair
- Start the game, test that a new save loads a household, and exit.
- Copy over your most recent save file
- Start the game again and see if you can load a household
- If the game produces a last exception file, attach that: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/INFORMATION-How-to-Send-User-Files-to-The-Sims-4-Team/m-p/6065302#M38008
I'm also willing to test a save file for you.
I’ve done all of those steps and it didn’t work. I keep getting the same last exception that I posted to my original post in this thread.
@allbutfaithful In a new save, do you get the same error?
Worked for me! Sad my save file is gone though
@allbutfaithful Okay. Now copy your old save files out of the renamed/moved folder into the new one. Try loading those. Test in your regular household and a household you've never played in before. Unless you just want to start fresh, of course!
