frying pan crossed - thought bubble

I have purchased TS4 - Realm of Magic. Everything seems to be doing fine, except for the spell "Minionize".. The option "prepare food" just doesn't work, the targetted sim only displays a frying pan which is crossed, as its thought bubble.. how can I fix this so that the targetted person cooks when commanded to do so? Thank you for your answers.Sending file ^^

    It means (I can't do that). Is there any obstructions such as locked doors or does the sim have at least level one in cooking skill. I don't remember if you can tell him what to cook but if so is his cooking skill high enough for that?
