Furniture disappearing and becoming unclickably gigantic

Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.80.69.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? everything but seasons, and courtyard oasis, industrial loft, throwback fit kits
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I do not know how this happened but I put the item down and it just disappeared at the time I thought maybe I had deleted it on accident. I didn't see the error until I logged back in the game this afternoon.
What happens when the bug occurs? there is a giant table on the world and the lot and you cannot click it to select it. When I try to Move the lot and can see the outline for it on the ground but when you click in build mode it will not select anything. You have to zoom all the way out to see it in build mode. It will not allow my sim to even enter the lot, it shows a routing error of a table in their thought bubble.
What do you expect to see? something I can select and delete
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Gigantic Furniture

I happened to be recording when it happened, you can see the furniture disappear at about 1:40 and the shading gets very dark. I had MCC installed at the time but no sim on the lot.

Ok, managed to trash the table too. I moved the house to a far corner and a table leg was finally grab-able:

Only problem is, the lot is now on a 64x64, not 20x15. Maybe you could repro this but on a smaller lot? Not sure how well it would work though. Definitely worth a try!

Edit - no problem with it being on a bigger lot, thanks to @CGrant56 for pointing that out below 🙂

@ParisPaster Did you press any buttons to make it bigger by accident ?

Try saving the house to the gallery, then bulldoze the lot and place it again.

I have tried that. I saved to gallery and placed in a new game. Then moved the lot to the biggest one in Newcrest thinking maybe I could zoom out enough to grab the thing but that didnt work either.

@crinrict Its on the gallery its called gigantic furniture my tag is #parispasterbuilds. If you place it unfurnished it will go away, but at that point its really not worth it, like wasting 2 hours.

Hi @ParisPaster

as you're not opposed to mods, try twistedmexis AllCheats mod, that allows you to delete objects. The issue is you need the ID of the object which will probably differ in your game. So either you can send me your save so I can send you the ID you need to delete or you can try find it yourself (see instructions).

As said, you need the allcheats mod for this to work,

Load the lot in build mode.

Open the cheat console and type: Testingcheats on

type: objects.list table

type: objects.destroy <obj_id> (see below)

this will show something like this in your cheat box

What you need now is the obj_id (you need to type it). The table should be object_tableDinig_1x1. As you can see I have multiple so you just need to try which one is the correct one. For me it was the first listed. You might have even more. If you delete the wrong one, you will just need to place that again. So in my example it would be

objects.destroy 0x0e210de29e160975

As an alternative you can place the lot in a new save, delete the table there and then reupload and replace the lot in your normal game (just in case you don't want to delete random furniture in your neighborhood). A good place to do that is newcrest cause the game will only list items you have in the same neighborhood.

Thanks for uploading, always makes troubleshooting much easier 🙂

I placed your build on a 64x64 lot then grabbed the whole lot and moved it to the corner. This means the giant table leg was actually on the lot. I could then grab it and delete:

But it wasn't a table, it was a chair!

I noticed there was still a shadow so went back to map view, only to reveal you also have a table placed there too:

I'm currently trying to delete that too but it gives you something else to play with and another method to try and remove it.
