@xbrownbarbie It looks like there still an outdated UI mod there. Try testing "vanilla": Exit Sims 4 then drag your Mods folder to your desktop. Then delete the file called localthumbcache from Document > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. If you think you might accidentally forget to exit without saving after testing, copy your Saves folder to your desktop too, to back it up. Now open Sims 4 and see if you still have the problem. If you don't, you can start the process of figuring out what from your Mods folder was causing it.
To find the culprit, add content back into the new Mods folder in bunches. If it works for a bunch, move that bunch back out to a folder marked "Tested" and tray another one.
@luthienrising after a bit more research seems like this is an ongoing bug from March this year, that’s still not resolved lol
The problem seems to be I’ve saved a household I’ve been playing with where they’ve gained additional traits, and where I’m then trying to edit them as a new household the game isn’t liking it.
Known bug, fortunately not my save (phew!). Thanks for trying to figure it out for me though. 😊
Will just have to start from a household where they haven’t gained additional traits through gameplay.

@xbrownbarbieOh, that would do it! So sorry you ran into that one! There isn't even a bugfix mod for it. However, I strongly advise rolling back to an earlier version of your save, not just changing households. And move the corrupted file out of Saves.
