Game marks sim as 'on vacation' every day for school even if they aren't

The game marks my sim as on vacation for school everyday. I did not request a vacation day, the game marks it as on vacation everyday. there is no holiday or any current events in the game that would sims would have a day off for school. however, my adult sim for work is just fine. it does not mark it as on vacation. this issue is only for children and teens. I tested this is not a mod error, as this is the base game bug itself. it's not game breaking, but it's just an annoying wrong tag. I would need to manually send my sim to school everyday. I do not have high school years installed. this is the base game's school system.
