You can play with your mods. Create a temporary mod folder elsewhere - and move your game mods to it.. Then check them all for updates - and update those that have them. Then move them over in small groups - eg 5 or 10 from this new temp folder to your game mod folder. Load the game. If it works -then those mods in that group are fine. If it fails to load - then a mod in that group is not fine. So you then remove the group of mods from the game folder - and put them back in the temp folder - noting which ones they are. Then move one of the mods from this group back into your game mod and load the game. If it it loads it was not that mod. Keep going until you find which mod in that group caused the fail. [This is time consuming, but it is the only way to play your game with mods]. Doing this you will eventually find the mod in the group that caused the fail. Once you do - set that mod aside until you get an update.
Then move your next group of mods over to the game mod. And load your game. And so on. If it works - those mods are fine. If it fails then as per above, move the last group out. And move them one by one until you find the mod that caused the fail.
If you keep going you will eventiually end up with a game that plays with mods it accepts. It took me half the day to work out and mine was one mod causing the fail. I wish you good luck fellow simmer.
