General issues with my sims game since Update 7/26/2024

so since the patch my game has been pretty bad. it keeps me on an infinite loafing screen with mods. I thought okay cool patch day, mods break. I update the mods that needed to be updated, removed the broken ones and deleted some unwanted cc. booted sims up, infinite loading screen trying to get to live mode, CAS and build mode. I thought maybe it's just I have too much cc and my game can't handle it, turned my graphics down and deleted some more. still infinite loading screen.

I cleared the cache, made a new sims 4 folder and only added the fixed and updated mods. still infinite loading scree

I decided to do a vanilla run to see if its my game or my mods, ran the game with none of my saves (to avoid issues ive worked on them for too long). I started a new game and when I got to CAS the trait slots were missing and makeup slots, accessories and shoes weren't loading.

is this game issues that are made worse by mods?

(I PLAY ON MACBOOK!!!!)

no I am not missing makeup, accessories and shoes anymore. I don't know what that was about. I tried with mods again and still have the infinite loading screen so im just going to keep trying with vanilla and wait to see when the trait issue is resolved

  • @echoesofsilencex Please see How to Use Mods and CC for how to fully test without mods ("vanilla") testing. See Broken/Updated Mods & CC for current known broken mods, plus those updated and cleared for the patch, plus complex issues with preferences. That post is currently being updated multiple times a day, including with reupdated mods. Note that at any many patch, a lot of code changes, and a risk you choose to take on by using mods is that the code those mods use changes and the mods need updating. For very good reason, many mod users plan to do something other than Sims after major updates, or they decide to stop taking on the risks that come with using mods.

If you have issues in a new user folder (drag the folder The Sims 4 to your desktop or rename it), with no former files put back, in a new save, and a Game Repair doesn't resolve those, please post to Game Issues. State exactly how you tested and show the issue.

If that test works, you likely had a mod issue you had not identified.
