THE. SAME. THING. Happend to me. I was mad because I had a story carefully planned and it wasn't time yet for my sims to get engaged. My female sim is noncommittal and she needs to go slow. I'm so mad.
I think it's from Get Together, ever since I installed it I've been getting various calls and messages that have direct impact on my gameplay. I just didn't know they would get engaged without me 🙃🙃🙃 I love the pack but I could use some warning.
No these type of phone calls are not all the way back from Get Together but was added with Eco Living. If they ask if they should get engaged/have a baby and you answer Yes then it is pretty obvious that will be the result. If you did not want them engaged you should have answered no.
Well, yes, but my other Sims got plenty calls from other Sims asking them if they should have a baby and none of them ever got pregnant, that’s why I assumed they won’t get engaged.
Answering no doesn't work though. I've had this happen to me twice now. The first time I answered yes, because I thought it was a random glitch.
The second time I chose the other option and the sim got mad at me, but they still got engaged (I guess it depends on how full the romance and friendship bars are?).
The other weird thing about this, is that the second time both sims were in my household. It's really quite annoying. Especially when you're playing out a story.
I don't have eco living nor get together, and this just happened to me as well.
I wouldn't say I should have expected them to get engaged.
I'm my situation the the, now engaged couple, lives apart, but they have a child together. The child lives with the mother in my household. The guy, who is the father of the child, called THE CHILD says the thing about the ring in the bag. I answer as any child who loves mom and dad would, I ofcourse say that he should say yes. And then, voila. I get notification that they are now engaged. Not part of my plan..
Of the expansion packs I only have pets, get to work, university and get famous.
This is because of the recently added neighborhood stories. If someone asked for your advice wouldn't you think the likely outcome would be that they followed your advice? Remember that is not the child in the game that decides it is you as the player that takes the decisions.
I don’t have get together and it happened to me. I think it’s parent hood since it’s the same format as the calling for advice thing
In your case it is the new Neighborhood Stories that were recently added.
