Having issues with planning a wedding

I just bought My Wedding Stories. Trying to plan a wedding and when i go to pick the flower pal, ring bearer, etc the sims pics to choose from is blank and it has the ok button in green like i have already chosen. The only one the pics aren't blank on is the guests. Also it won't let me pick certaim days because it says "A wrdding must have the options to include activities". I have no clue what it is talking about. I hesitated buying My Wedding Stories because i knew it had issues but it had been a while since it came out so figured it was safe enough and it was on sale. Are these common issues that have yet to be fixed? I play on PS4 so no mods or anything.
