Solved

I don't have a mods folder.

I've had issues in the past with my custom content not appearing in the game, and I vaguely remember being told to delete the mods folder on the promise that when I reopen the game another mods folder will appear automatically. I don't think this happened. I now do not have a mods folder, is there any way to get a new mods folder or if creating one manually would work? Not an urgent question, seeing as I'm getting a mac next week, and I'm hoping that when I install the game on the mac all of the folders will automatically install as well. But if you have a solution off the top of your head, let me know!

I'm sure the game has created a new mods folder in your game. Maybe you're looking in the wrong place. . The game is installed in two folders, One folder is in Program files and this should not be touched. Second folder is in Dokuments / Electronic Arts / The Sims4 and there must be a new mods folder in the game folder.
    I don't work for EA

    @Sydnispel

The path to the mods folder in Win 10
Click the Windows icon in the left corner of the screen. You will see: Start Menu - find the word "System" in the list and click it. On the next list that opens, find "This computer" and click it. Then click on the drive: C. You will see the next list, select "Users" and click it Then select your computer name or your name. You will see the next list - select> Documents then> Electronic Arts> then The Sims 4> inside you will find the mods folder
  • My personal problem is that I've had so many issues with origin and sims where I've had to download and redownload. Therefore fro some reason my mods folder is gone. When I open up my electronic arts folder the only other folder inside is EA SERVICES. Not sure what to do. Should I delete my electronic arts folder all together?

@ginamarshall  Are you looking in Documents?  If you've launched the game once, or at least once since you last uninstalled and reinstalled, you should have a Sims 4 folder inside Documents\Electronic Arts, with a Mods folder inside that.  It sounds like you're looking inside a different Electronic Arts folder.  Instead of searching your computer, just manually open Documents and go from there.

  • That's the problem! I've downloaded the Sims 4 before onto a laptop before and it's not a problem.
But LITERALLY had to redownload it onto a different computer.
Now the file IS IN THE DOCUMENTS FOLDER, but for some reason it's just 'The Sims 4" No other folder labeled Electronic Arts. And then there's no mods folder.

I have NOT deleted any folders or anything. I have NOT modified anything.

I even went onto the game and made a character all over since I had to restart the game and then I saved a character.

I HAVE gone onto the game to tell it to allow Mods and such. STILL NOTHING.

Everything that anyone has told me to do, there has been nothing.

This picture shows these are the files that are opened when I go to "The Sims 4" folder in my Documents page; again no folder labeled Electronic Arts (which I DID NOT DELETE). I do not know where the Mods folder would be or what to do.

    Help.

@darkvikita  The folders in your screenshot are part of the game's program files, as in, the data Origin installs.  The Mods folder is inside the user folder along with other user files like these:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/user-files-explained/

You must have a user folder somewhere, or at least it must exist while you're actually playing the game.  If your saves are getting deleted, it's possible the user folder is being uploaded to OneDrive; please check its version of Documents for any Sims 4 content.

If the files aren't in OneDrive, please load the game, play for a bit (no need to spend much time on it), save your progress, and exit to the Main Menu rather than quitting.  From there, click Load Game, hover over the folder icon for your save, and write down the exact file path you see.  Please post that here.  You can write [username] instead of your actual username if you want, but let me know if you see the wrong username.

  • I am right there with you. I have looked all over for my mods folder. I can not find it at all. I had one in the beginning, but it has disappeared for some reason. And I don't know how to fix it at all.
