Infinite loading screen after Infant Update?

Hi everyone!

I updated recently to the newest infant update through EA App. The issue is that every time I try to play a household, I get stuck on a loading screen for more than 30 minutes until I close the game by my own. I repaired the game through EA App, removed cache files and even did the 50/50 method for my custom content, but I'm still stuck with the infinite loading screen glitch. I can access CAS, but unable to get into livemode.

  • @bxbytrishx  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If you still can't play in live mode, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Hi! I moved my old folder and launched the game to spawn a new folder, I was able to load through the loading screen and start a game through live mode.

By the way, I attached the dxdiag file below

@bxbytrishx  The fact that the game works fine in a new folder means the issue is something in your old user folder, so the next step is testing out that content.  Start with your mods, and keep in mind that many will have broken after yesterday's patch; it may be easier to just download new versions once they've been updated or cleared for use with patch 1.96.  Once you've sorted through your mods, test your cc, and when that's sorted out, you can move over the  contents of saves and Tray, which are likely to be fine.

Thank you! I found out it was a broken mod that was causing it ^^ my game was able to proceed and load as usual, thank you for the help!!!

  • Hello, may I ask what mod was causing your issue? I'm currently having the same problem and I'm trying to make the 50/50 method my last resort. Thanks in advance.

  • Please, consider sharing which mod it was, it would be incredibly helpful!

  • can you please tell ive been searching from thread to thread and NOBODY wants to say which mod it is this is very frustrating because were supposed to be a community.

Hi, I don’t know if you’ve already solved the issue but if you have not, I had the same bug and what fixed it for me was removing the Ravensim infant hairs Avery, Jada, and Olive cc. I haven’t tested yet if only one is the issue or all three but removing those three infant fixed the issue for me.
