infinite loading screen

hi guys! i was hoping someone would be able to help me with a problem i’ve been having with my game

i recently installed the sims 4 on a new macbook (previously used a windows computer). i typically use a ton of cc, no heavy mods (just mccc, lighting mods, etc.).

i created a new save file and didnt run into any issues until the update a few days ago, which essentially broke my game. every time i try to save and exit cas, whether it’s creating a new household or editing an existing one, my game is stuck on an infinite loading screen and i have to force quit. i’ve tried removing certain mods, removing my mods folder altogether, and repairing the game, but nothing works. even when i remove the mods folder and try to create a new save with entirely no cc, i still get stuck with the infinite loading screen.

if anyone has advice on how to fix this i would really appreciate it <3 thank you in advance
