interaction menu loading slow

I use a MAC for the sims. This issue never happened to me when I first got it. I do have and use mods but even with them they went pretty fast/normal speed for the menu to pop up. Now it takes like 4 or 5 seconds to pop up which doesn't seem like a lot but it surely does. Especially when you are used to the fast interaction menu popping up as soon as you click an object. I just need help on fixing this issue, Im already kinda an impatient person lol. Thank you 🙂

Move the Mods folder to the desktop, trash the localthumbcache.package file in the Sims 4 folder then load up the game and play for a bit. Don't save because you don't have your Mods in the game.

    How is it?

I did that and it worked fast. But when I add mods back again it loads slow. My only knowledge for this issue has to be that it’s script mods since I also removed 3 script mods(slice of life, basemental drugs, and woohoo wellness mod lumpinou) that was  getting in the way.

Yep, if it works normally in a clean game it will be related to one or more Mods. Moved your thread to the Mods forum for further help.

In other words the solution is no solution. My mods are slowing down the interaction pie menus and other object menus. I removed basemental permanently and it made the game less glitchy. I’m ok with that. But, here is where I get annoyed. I have a fast quite new laptop. It’s a gaming laptop and everything (except for sims) runs like butter. Yes I have a lot of cc and mods. I know it’s the mods slowing the pie menus but here is the issue. Half my mods fix the numerous errors, glitches and bad tuning or just bad game design. The other half makes the game actually enjoyable. I have a ton of cc but shockingly I did a test and they do not slow the game. So it’s mods. But the game is so bad that if I take out those mods to improve performance I find the game itself boring and trashy. I have mods to fix the absolutely atrocious emotional system, romance system, career systems, add game play that is sorely lacking and add nonexistent traits, better aspirations options and well almost everything sims 4 has reduced its legacy to be (I never used mods in sims 2 and used only 1 in sims 3 because those games were well fun). My options are to not enjoy the game at all but have it run smoothly (with all the glitches, errors and frustratingly bad design of half the function, which are sloppy and poorly created and executed) or have the game run slow but be enjoyable and actually more or less error free. That’s sims 4 for you. I hope the competition cares about their games more. EA literally is selling packs that don’t work like wedding stories, and don’t care. I really would just love a mod that would allow me to fix the interaction menus. Lol

Hi @CircuitD Are your interaction menus loading slowly or fully broken? If they're simply not working, that can be a result of mods that aren't compatible with each other, outdated mods (they're either outright broken or need updating - see the lists at Broken/Updated Mods ), or mods that aren't installed quite right. Some of the complex mods out there have a lot of moving parts in multiple files, and installation issues can affect interaction menus.

To be exact it’s 4 second delayed to pop up. Same with computer and fridge (these being less annoying since you simply interact with those less then with other sims and those tend to walk away in those 4 seconds). The game runs without a problem. It loads a bit long but except for that it’s fine once it does. I shut off background applications, start up applications and removed some mods that have an interaction wheal. That did nothing. The interaction menus just loads too long. 4 seconds every time you click on a sim is just absurd since most interactions take less time. Also once it loads it’s fast.  I pretty much playing on pause so the other sim does split while the game gets its stuff together. I go through mod updates every single time there is a game update. I don’t use mods that did not update  recently. I don’t use basemental, kawaii Stacie or some mods that are blamed for this. I do use woohoowellness but without it this game is trash. It’s one of the few mods I simply find fun. I use traits from Chingu but once again without it the game is crap. I know the issue is mods and only mods. It’s not installation issues since I reinstalled the mods twice to make sure and read instructions carefully. A year ago EA said the issue is inventory, but that’s not true since I have this issue with empty inventories (and fridges) and if it was that’s on EA to fix. They designed the game with inventory being the only source of maintenance and game dynamic work through it: like to do things like upgrades, alchemy etc. I have acer gaming laptop. 16gb of ram and it’s only a year old. Everything on this computer works smoothly. My computer turns on quicker then the game loads an interaction menus. So like I said there is no solution. You either play a boring, error ridden game in fast mode or mod it and have it stall every time you try to finally enjoy it. If anyone makes a mod to fix this it will probably be the only time it will be fixed. Because EA don’t care.

@CircuitD Let’s also add that sims constantly terminate your queued list of tasks and that includes interactions making this issue a far bigger problem than one might think. This is a ea issue. Not addressed since the game inception.

Is your RPO fully updated? Lumpinou has made a lot of changes to it recently, and some might help address your issue. For the RPO mods it's always best to fully delete the mods before updating to the new versions.

Chingyu's mods should have no impact on loading the interaction menus.

To once again reiterate my mods themselves are always updated. Yes lumpinu updates all the time I check almost every time I plan to play the game. Every single mod I use right now is either updated or compatible. Not updating is not the issue. The real issue is that I shouldn’t need half the mods I am using if only EA would release games after quality control not treat their customers as play testers. Honestly this game is so broken and butchered they should be ashamed of the quality of work they are producing. EA are lazy, ambitiousless, greedy and have no pride in the product they released. Since they are a game company they face zero consequences for releasing broken products. So anyone know a mod that would care more than the people that actually get paid for this game?
