MCC Homeless Sims question

Hello!
I've been using MCC for a while now and it's great, however I'd love to know if there is an option that means Sims do not marry homeless sims? My game keeps generating super ugly townies (does anyone know how to stop that?) and then MCC story progression will make my single sims marry these ugly townies and then move them in with the single Sim.

I also noticed yesterday that some of 'My household' single Sims have been moved into the 'Other households' category without me doing it. I'm not sure if this was an option I clicked on MCC by accident. They weren't moved out of their homes, just into the 'Other households'.
