Mentoring attempts resetting in scenario

Question

I'm playing the mentoring scenario and my adult Sim has mentored the teen probably 10 times (in logic). We have gone back and forth on the number of times she mentored.

It gave me 2/5 the first time she mentored. They were at another residential lot.
When they went home, it reset to 0.
Mentoring happened again but it stayed set at 0.
I restarted my game and it showed as 3/5.
After this, mentoring happened and finally it progressed as expected, giving us 4/5 on the home lot.
The Sims then went together to a community lot and the mentoring showed as 0/5. It has stayed at 0/5 ever since, no matter how or where the mentoring happens.
We only mentor in the logic skill.

My scenarios always have issues (like being completed upon leaving the home lot) but this one is new. I'm going to restart and see what happens but I thought others might be having the issue.

I have no mods installed. I play on PC.

I have all content except Batuu & Wedding Stories; for kits, I only have the build kits, including the new one.

ETA: I have moved lots; same result. I have gone on vacation; same result. I've tried mentoring handiness; same result.

@EdenzaI have this exact issue, including the number of times mentored and what happened with them once I got to 4/5

To try to fix it I have tried repairing game through Origin which did not work

I tried moving the game folder from Documents to the Desktop then restarting my computer, and then starting the game to create a new game folder in Documents, exiting the game, moving my Saves Folder from Desktop to Documents and restarting the game and loading my save. It didn't work

I do not own Wedding Stories, Batuu, Vampire, and Dine Out. I own the first two kits and that's all

My computer info:
CPU-AMD Ryzen 9 5900
GPU- AMD Radeon RX5600 6GB
RAM - 32 GB RAM
HD - 1TB M.2 NVME HDD
OS - Windows 10 v 21H2
Security - Windows Defender

Only things enabled on startup are Dropbox, Radeon Software (for my RGB and to keep my drivers updated), Realtek HD Audio, and Windows Security Notifications (I even stopped my printer and disabled bluetooth)
