Anyone have any suggestions? I bought the For Rent pack in advance and have been attempting to play it. It first stated game saving in process for a long time, which I got rid of, but now when I build anything and make it a residential rental, I can't pick the rooms to the different units; it won't allow me click the arrow or use the left side to assign a room. edited title for visibility. -puzzlezaddict

Just downloaded the new For Rent expansion pack, fully expecting some bugs. However, the MAIN feature of the pack is not working. When I change my lot type to Residential Rental it won't let me select each room to add to each unit. The drop down menu is there but I cannot select it, NOR can I select any of the other options when clicking a room (i.e. copy, move, rotate, etc). Already tried using it on different lots, restarting game, restarting computer. Help!

So, I just finished downloading the For Rent EP and the main feature is not working???I built townhouses a couple days ago for the pack, and when I load the lot and change the lot type to residential rental, it doesn't let me assign units. Like, if i click on a room, it won't let me choose which unit I want it to be.I also tried it on an empty lot and it's doing the same thing.

@idontmccall Ok, so it's hanging up loading into a lot then. Here's a couple of things to try. If the lot is any venue other than a residential rental, try loading the lot in build from the map. If it is residential rental, you can still load in from the map but you lose everything that is in any container - fridge, bookcase, toy box and possible anything in any chests or storage containers (I'm not sure on the chests or storage containers). There are reports on losing the contents of the fridge, bookcase and toybox. No reports that I have seen on other containers.If you get into the lot, make a small change. Add something like a chair. Anything will do. Then exit the lot and try loading into live again. If it doesn't work, then go to Manage Households and take the family on the lot to CAS. Check to make sure you don't have any broken CAS items on them. Fix what you find if you find anything. then try loading into the lot in live again.If it still won't load, then try moving the family out. Keep in mind that you'll lose the connection between the sims and anything personal like birth certificates if you sell the furnishings when you move out. After getting the family out, try to get into the lot from the map again. If that doesn't work and you have a copy of the lot in your Library, you can try replacing the lot from the map.Another thing you can do before moving the family out is play another household and travel to the lot giving you the problem to see if you can get to the lot that way. I don't know if any of that will solve the problem but doing those things has solved problems for other people before. It's probably worth a try anyway since you can't play atm.On the popups. I did see your other post on that this morning. The only things I can suggest are first, try a game repair. If that doesn't work, try a user folder reset. To reset your user folder, just rename your "The Sims 4" folder. Start the game. You'll have to close all the popups for the packs you have at Main Menu. Once you get through that, start a new game. Go through creating and placing the sim. Save and exit. In Windows, copy your saves folder from your renamed "The Sims 4" folder over the new the one the game just created. Do the same for your mods folder and any other folder like configoverride if you use any, screenshots if you want to keep them and custom music if you have any. Once everything is copied over, start the game to see if the popups continue to come up.Hope this helps.

I figured it out! According to a post on here, all of my mods were broken/outdated so I decided to delete them and redownload the newer versions and my game is finally working properly.

The mods I had that were broken/outdated are:
- Better BuildBuy – TwistedMexi
- Better Exceptions – TwistedMexi
- MC Command Center – Deaderpool
- TOOL Mod – TwistedMexi
- UI Cheats Extension – Weerbesu

I also deleted and redownloaded these mods to make sure:
- Control Any Sim
- Unlimited Jobs

Hi @sercourt Do you have any content in your mods folder? If so, please test without, and also check the lists in Broken/Updated Mods

I am having the same issue, can’t select rooms at all. I have no mods installed currently.

Hi @r41nb0wbr1t3 Could you please test with a clean folder? Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop. Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options. Then check in a new save.
