Try the following
- Close the game
- Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
- Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry
- Start a new save game
- Check if you still have the error
- Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

I had the issue with not being able to assign the room and after new folder from a scratch has been created it works! How to restore my game history?

@bambusiatko Copy your save files from inside your old Saves folder into the new folder. (If you deleted it instead of dragging it to the desktop, check your recycle bin, and restore it onto your desktop.) You can do the same with Tray files, Screenshot files, and Video files.
For mods, check for broken and updated content first: Broken/Updated Mods . You can copy updated and cleared mods into the new folder. This is a good time to get some better organization there too. For the rest of your mods, you can add those back in batches and test to make sure the game still works right. If you need to remove mods to isolate broken ones, delete the localthumbcache file.
