Hi, I have ran into an issue. I have been trying to make the Horse Ranch Pack work. I tried repairing the game and I still can not add nor buy horses. I play with mods, now my question is to do I have to delete the LittleMsSam mods? They are quite fun to play with and add a lot of drama in the gameplay but if I have to do that, do tell me. Or are the chingyu mods also possibly not compatible with the Pack?
@v493e4a6n621 Hi! Do you have the most recent versions of those mods by LittleMsSam and chingyu? The first thing I would suggest is to look for updates that are compatible with the most recent version of the game.
If you have the most recent versions, then you should test all your mods/CC. The easiest way to do that is to move your Mods folder to your desktop and delete the localthumbcache.package file located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder before opening the game for testing. If your game works properly without any mods/CC, then you can start adding them back a little at a time (and also deleting that cache file) to see which ones cause the issue. Unfortunately, if any mods/CC are causing problems and haven't been updated, then you will probably want to keep them out of your game.
Click this spoiler to see the steps I use for testing mods.
1. Create a new game for testing so that your current save is left unchanged until you've identified the problem mods/CC.
2. Create some folders on your desktop; perhaps one labeled "Tested Safe Mods-CC", another labeled "Mods-CC Needs Testing" and one more labeled "Broken Mods-CC" so you know which ones to check for updates. This will keep tested mods/CC separated.
3. Exit the game if you haven't already, and divide your mods/CC in half; put one half in the Needs Testing folder and put/keep the other half into the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 / Mods folder.
4. Delete the localthumbcache.package file, located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder before opening the game with the half you're testing,
5. If the game works with that half, exit the game, move that half to the Safe Mods-CC folder and move the remaining "Needs Testing" mods back to the Mods folder to test (Again, delete that cache file before opening the game.)
6. Once you know which half is causing the issue, divide those in half, keeping one half in the "Needs Testing" folder and one half in your Mods folder, and test again (delete the cache file each time after moving mods/CC and before opening the game) and moving mods/CC not causing problems into the Safe folder.
7. Repeat this process until you find all that are broken.

According to the CurseFog, the mods are up to date but the pack still won't run. Maybe there is an issue on the chingyu ones with the 100 traits packs? Cause I do own these and they could conflict with the game itself per se, I thought. But I have no idea, I tried to run the game without cc/mods - still no horses to see nor in CAS or ingame..
- PipMenace2 years agoHero@sectumsemprami CurseForge does not guarantee your mods will work with the newest game patch. Up-to-date just means you have the latest version the mod creator has released through CurseForge. If they haven't updated yet - or even if they have released a quick patch elsewhere, but the finalized update is still in the approval process to release on CurseForge - then your mods will likely be "up to date" and yet still break the game.
Try moving your mods folder to your desktop, deleting the cache file, and starting a new save. Do you have horses in that new save?- 2 years ago
