Mods not showing up, corrupted file?

So I was clearing out my cache files not that long ago and since then all of my build custom content has disappeared, I assumed I had just deleted all of my build content so tried to download more and nothings coming up. All of my custom content for create a sim is still there and can still use them but absolutely nothing for build mode. I'm afraid I may have corrupted a file, but I still don't know which one exactly and there is nothing in my recycling bin on my pc. I'm not worried about my old content coming back but I would like to be able to still use it for build mode. When I open sims 4 all of my mods are scripted including build mode ones but don't show up in the game, does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried almost everything but nothing is helping? If I go onto old saved games my build content is still there in the house but not in the menu to be able to get again if that makes sense? I really don't know what to do and I've been trying to fix it for days so please please please can someone help me.

This sounds like a mod issue.  Since you can see your CAS CC, you must have enabled CC and if CC for CAS is showing, build CC should also be showing.  So imo, it's probably a mod blocking the build CC.  I can think of only a few that might be the culprit such as any that affect the catalog like TwistedMexi's Better Build Buy so I suggest you pull all your mods and check the catalog to see if you can see your build CC then.  If you can, then you'll know it's a mod causing it.  Then start putting them back in one at a time and testing until the problem shows up again which will tell you which mod is the problem.

Another thing is to check the Game Options to make sure you have script mods enabled.  Chances are that you did enable that so the fix is probably to make sure you have the latest versions and update any that are out of date or pull the problem mod altogether.

    Hope this helps.

  • hiya- I will definitely look into this Thankyou so much. I do have the twisted mexi mod but I only downloaded it after my build mods had gone I contacted ea and they said it’s cause I have too many mods and you have ones that have problems so I downloaded that mod to see which ones were causing problems, deleted all of them and they still didn’t show up. Is it definitely not a cache file cause I deleted a few and that’s when the problems started?

    thankyou

The thing about mods is if you run a lot of them, some may interfere with others so it's best if you can run with as few as possible.  So your issue may be one mod conflicting with another especially if they are big mods that do a lot of things.  You might want to consider testing them in various combinations together or pulling some permanently.

Another way to test is to start a new game in a completely separate "The Sims 4" folder and then put everything in and see if you can see the build CC.  Just move your current "The Sims 4" folder to your desktop or somewhere outside of the Electronics Arts folder and letting the game create a new one.  Then install mods and CC and see if you still have the problem.  It could be a problem with the save rather than the CC and mods.  Not a high probability but it does happen occasionally.  In that case, you would probably have to abandon the save and start a new one.

Another thing it might be is it could be a build CC item causing it especially if you have a lot of CC.  So you might want to consider checking your CC by using the 50/50 method.

    Hope this helps.

  • Thankyou so much. I made a whole new mods file and added the mods that I like the most one by one and everything is running perfectly now.
Thankyou for your help I’ve been searching for days for a solution.
